The two-party system can feel overwhelming. Below are some organizations that strive to break up the corporate duopoly, or at least provide some balance. From ballot measures to voter registration initiatives, these organizations work to strengthen our democracy and diversify the pool of candidates.

All On The Line
This campaign of the National Redistricting Action Fund is focused on ending gerrymandering and restoring fairness to U.S. elections and democracy. It is driven by grassroots organizers who want to make a lasting impact by eliminating this fundamental structural barrier that is silencing the will of the people and thwarting progress on a wide range of issues, from ensuring access to quality, affordable health care and achieving equal pay to reducing gun violence, protecting voting rights, and dealing with the urgent threat of climate change.
America Votes
This coordination hub of the progressive community leads collaborative efforts to advance progressive policies and win elections in key states by working with a diverse community of more than 400 partner organizations at the national, state, and local levels. It works year-round to ensure there is never a gap in the progressive community’s efforts to build on successes and create a better, more inclusive future, for all.
Ballot Initiative Strategy Center
The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) is a nationwide movement-building infrastructure organization that leverages ballot measures across the United States to strengthen democracy; center people of color, queer, low-income, immigrant, Indigenous, and other marginalized communities; advance racial equity; build and transform power; and galvanize a new progressive base.

BlackPAC
BlackPAC is an independent, Black-led organization that uses the power of year-round political engagement and elections to change our economic, justice, and political systems. Since its founding in 2016, BlackPAC has helped galvanize Black voters to the polls to elect governors, lieutenant governors, attorney generals, U.S. senators, and state legislators. It is committed to long-term, sustained engagement with Black voters by building lasting political infrastructure, and holding public officials accountable to a policy agenda that defends civil rights, promotes dignity, and ends white supremacy.
Black Voters Matter
Black Voters Matter's goal is to increase power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. It is dedicated to expanding Black voter engagement and increasing progressive power, believing that effective voting allows a community to determine its own destiny. It accomplishes this through voter registration drives, funding special elections-related initiatives, policy advocacy, network development, and training.
Blue America
Blue America PAC is a collaboration between the authors/publishers of DownWithTyranny.com, Hullabaloo.com and CrooksandLiars.com—Howie Klein, Heather “Digby” Parton, and John Amato, respectively. Its goal is to replace the bipartisan Conservative Consensus in Congress with a strong and activated progressive movement that will serve the needs of ordinary American families, not the 1%, not corporate special interests, and not careerist political hacks and their lobbyist buddies.
Climate Hawks Vote PAC
This political action committee believes climate change is a fundamental threat to the lives and livelihood of every human and future generations in the United States and across the globe. It believes that bold action by public officials—at all levels of government—is essential to addressing the threat posed by climate change. Too many Democratic politicians consider climate to be just another issue bubbling below the surface of top priorities, and too many advocates are willing to excuse Democratic politicians who tout their states’ coal and oil resources. Climate Hawks Vote supports aggressive, progressive champions of climate justice—climate hawks. Its mission: to identify, train, and elect individual climate hawk leaders, while generating a political environment in which they have the power to advance policies needed to address climate change.
The Collective PAC
The Collective PAC is working to fix the challenge of under-representation of the Black community in elected seats of power throughout the United States. It believes to reach political equity—a place where African American elected officials represent the community’s population statistically—Black elected officials should make up at least 13% of all elected officials, at every level.

This is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning the fight for America's state legislatures. It works to kick right-wing extremists out of power and elect local Democrats who are committed to advancing policies that improve the lives of the people they serve.

Democrats.com is a news and community site for progressive activists, with more than 10 million supporters. It stands for jobs, justice, healthcare, education, the environment, and peace.
Elect Democratic Women PAC
Elect Democratic Women is focused on electing more Democratic women to Congress and higher office. It was formed by Democratic congresswomen who understand that Congress cannot and will not address the urgent needs facing women and their families by a Congress where less than 1 in 5 representatives are women.
Electing Women Alliance
This national network of local giving groups brings women together as a community to support women candidates. Its goal is to inspire intentional, informed giving to increase women’s political leadership and close the political gender giving gap.
Emerge America
This is the nation's largest network of women elected officials and candidates, and focuses on fundamentally changing the face of politics in this country by breaking down barriers, opening doors, and creating pathways for Democratic women to get involved in politics. It provides recruitment and training, and includes more than 6,500 program alums nationwide, with 1,200 alums currently serving at all levels of government.
EMILY’s List
EMILYs List works to elect Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot and across the country through recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, and researching the issues that impact women and families.
Fair Elections Center
This national, nonpartisan voting rights and election reform organization based in Washington, D.C. is dedicated to using litigation, organizing, education, and advocacy to protect and expand the right to vote—particularly in disenfranchised, underrepresented, and marginalized communities.
Fair Fight
Fair Fight promotes fair elections around the country, encourages voter participation in elections, and educates voters about elections and their voting rights. The group raises awareness about election reform, advocates for this at all levels, and engages in other voter education programs and initiatives targeting voter suppression.
Fair Vote
FairVote is a nonpartisan organization seeking better elections for all. It researches and advances voting reforms that make democracy more functional and representative for every American, and is the national driving force behind advancing ranked choice voting (RCV) and proportional RCV in legislative districts to give voters more choices, fairer representation, and better government. It advises state and national partners on its uses and implementations, from cities across Utah to New York City.
For Our Future
This people-driven organization is committed to serving progressive values and causes by working with local leaders and organizations to create permanent and lasting change. Its mission is to empower people and community organizations collectively mobilizing issues and electoral campaigns to advance shared progressive agendas.
Indivisible
Indivisible is a progressive movement and organization founded in response to President Trump’s 2016 election. It consists of organizational components the Indivisible Project, Indivisible Civics, and Indivisible Action. Collectively, supporters and volunteers provide advocacy, funding, and training for a wide range of progressive initiatives to build a democracy that reflects a broad, multiracial constituency for all.
iVote
iVote is a national voting rights organization dedicated to going on offense in battleground states to expand access to voting. Since its founding in 2014, the group has run independent expenditure and coordinated campaigns supporting Democratic candidates and automatic voter registration across the United States.
Justice Democrats
Justice Democrats is a federal political action committee powered by grassroots donations. Its mission is to build people power in the United States by electing a bloc of working-class leaders to Congress who meet the urgency of today's political moment and serve the people's agenda—not the interests of big corporate donors.
Latino Victory Fund
Latino Victory is dedicated to building political power in the Latino community so that the voices and values of Latinos are reflected at every level of government and in the policies that drive the United States forward. Its vision is marked by a substantial increase in progressive Latino elected officials, Latino voter participation, and Latino political donations—making Latino voters a deciding factor in elections up and down the ballot throughout the country. Since its founding in 2014, the group has supported more than 350 candidates for public office and elected more than 200 Latino leaders.
Legal Defense Fund
This nonprofit legal organization uses the power of law, narrative, research, and people, to defend the humanity and advance the rights of Black people in America.
Movement Voter Project
Movement Voter Project (MVP) is a progressive donor clearinghouse that directs funding to organizations working to shift culture, win power, and shape policy. It works as a “mutual fund” for political giving, helping donors channel resources to the most effective groups around the country that are building a broad-based coalition for progress.
National Democratic Redistricting Committee
The National Democratic Redistricting Committee, chaired by the 82nd Attorney General of the United States, Eric H. Holder, Jr., is the first-ever strategic hub for a comprehensive redistricting strategy. It works to rebuild a democracy where voters pick their politicians—not the other way around.
National Democratic Training Committee
The largest Democratic campaign training organization in the nation, the National Democratic Training Committee has guided more Democrats on how to win elections and build long-term power in their communities than any other group.
National Popular Vote
The National Popular Vote movement advocates for bills to guarantee the U.S. presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Such a compact has been enacted into law by 16 states and D.C. with 205 electoral votes. It aims to fix the broken Electoral College system and return power to the people, where it belongs.
National Redistricting Action Fund
The National Redistricting Action Fund (NRAF) is the 501(c)(4) affiliate of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. Its mission is to harness the power of people and the courts to dismantle unfair electoral maps and create a redistricting system based on democratic values. By helping to create more just and representative electoral districts across the country, it hopes to restore the public’s faith in a true representative democracy.

This nonprofit is focused on advancing the values of justice, equality, and community in U.S. politics by bringing together online citizens across America and injecting progressive voices into the national conversation.
NextGen America
NextGen America is a leading, multi-issue and multi-racial national organization mobilizing millions of young people each year to support progressive candidates and causes. U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders founded Our Revolution as an independent organization to take on corporate power, elect progressives, and fight for a government that works for all of us—not the billionaire class. Progressive Turnout Project is the largest direct voter contact organization in the country, specifically dedicated to mobilizing the Democratic Party and defending democracy by getting out the vote. It deploys resources, innovative strategy, and expertise to increase Democratic voter turnout and drive measurable results in critical races.
Rapid Resist
This direct action organization supports progressive organizations fighting back against attacks on marginalized communities and democracy by utilizing peer-to-peer texting to recruit grassroots groups targeting tipping-point legislators.

Really American is a grassroots political action committee and news network dedicated to defending truth and democracy by promoting progressive values and voices.

State Innovation Exchange
State Innovation Exchange (SiX) empowers, emboldens, and equips state legislators to build and wield progressive governing power by/with/for the people they represent. It does so by providing legislators with the tools needed to shape impactful public policy and building their capacity to lead with their constituents. It fosters long-term collaboration between legislators—across chambers, across regions, and across state lines, and with grassroots movements.

VoteVets
Started in 2006, VoteVets PAC and VoteVets Action Fund have been the home for progressive veterans, military families, and their civilian supporters for nearly two decades. It is the first organization of its kind and the largest, with more than 1.5 million supporters in all 50 states. VoteVets uses public issue campaigns to relentlessly lift up the voices of veterans on matters of national security, veterans’ care, and everyday issues that affect the lives of those who served, and their families.
Voter Participation Center
The Voter Participation Center (VPC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 2003 to help members of the New American Majority register and vote. Since then, the organization has helped more than 6 million people register and cast ballots.
Voters Of Tomorrow
This youth-led nonprofit seeks to educate, empower, and engage Gen Z with politics and government.
